Actually when I came to Dr Atcha I came because of my wife. She had finished her complete work up; I’m not too good on dentists and because she had so much success that’s why I came here. I chose the option of having all of the teeth in the upper part of my mouth removed. There was a partial there already and there were a couple of caps in the front, so we decided that that was the option that I would take. I’d only have one piece that I would have to worry about and that it would be put in with a screw-type post. It would be permanent and it would be matched to my lower teeth which are actually mine, and they would make it look like it was actually there for a long, long time. I did not feel any of the extractions. When I actually woke up they were just finishing up with the stitching and I didn’t even know that. They put some gauze in and told me to come back the next day and the next day they started putting in the material to create the temporary and that was pretty much it. I’ll be honest with you, I never felt hardly anything and I don’t like dentists so they did a great job! I’ve been through this before, I’ve had some other dental things and in a lot of the dentists that I went to when I was in the service and where I worked where they made you go to that particular dentist, I never was comfortable, but this was excellent. The people that worked on me made me feel safe and I felt comfortable. Whatever they did, it works because I had no pain and the good thing about it is that they gave me prescriptions for pain pills which I still have at home on the table, I have not used them, I did not need them, there was no pain when I was done. After my wife and I have come here Dyer Family Dentistry is my guy now, and if someone told me they needed to go someplace I would tell them to come here.

For years I’d been meditating over implants and six to eight years ago my regular dentist told me that I didn’t want to do this because of the time involved and the procedure involved and the pain involved. I can convince you I had none of the above, it has been perfect. Dr Atcha’s office, as far as pain goes, absolutely nothing, not a thing, nothing. I knew I was going to get sedated but I really didn’t know when I was sedated until after it was over and done with. It was remarkable; it was an experience like I’d never had before. Anybody knows you go there really groggy and all that nonsense, but here it’s not that way at all. You’re a little unstable after sedation but prior to that there is nothing, it’s that quick, it’s that fast. I had no pain; I had no nothing afterwards or prior to all the times that I’ve been here with the implants. Eating is a treat again. I can actually bite into something and not have my dentures slip and fall out or come down on my gums and tear my mouth apart. Eating is absolutely terrific with dental implants, absolutely terrific. I have many friends of mine that I have talked about Dr Atcha to, whether or not he knows about it, but I have done so. With my family I have four members in my family alone that are considering it. He gave me confidence. His ability to do what he is going to do, he gave me that confidence. I felt confident and secure with him. These dental implants are the second best thing God ever gave a person.

When I came to Dr Atcha he said there is something I can do for you so I left here with some kind of hope. I wasn’t looking for anymore partials because I did have partials so I had a cosmetic denture. It’s not just a regular denture; it’s a cosmetic design especially for me. I’d never had this kind of work done before so I was kind of leery but when I came in they were very nice. The staff is very nice and Dr Atcha is very nice, they made me feel very comfortable. It’s not a scary atmosphere; it’s a very pleasant atmosphere, a very comfortable atmosphere. I didn’t think I was going to get this type of care, they’re always there for me when I call them, and I can call them anytime. I’ve had sedation in the past and I had more idea what sedation is, but they had a two step program for sedation and now I can see why they did it. It was for people not to be upset the night before the surgery or be upset before the surgery. I had medication the night before and medication in the morning, then when I came in I’ll be honest with you, I don’t remember anything. They walked me in, they had an escort to be present for me which was my son, and all I remember was Dr Atcha came and greeted me and asked me how I was feeling and looked at my hand and the next thing I knew I was done. I honestly had no pain through this oral surgery. All my coworkers said it’s a new you because I had my smile back. They told me I looked much younger, they didn’t want to insult me by saying you do much younger. I eat better, I smile with more confidence, I really do, I have more confidence. The staff here made me feel more confident; when I walked in they told me to smile. Dr Atcha did give me hope, he gave me hope.

I do feel Dr Atcha is different from other dentists because there’s just a comfort level that I don’t feel with other dentists. You don’t go into the chair and feel all tensed up, it doesn’t make you scared to come in, it really doesn’t. I would highly recommend Dr. Atcha. If you are looking to do implants you should absolutely see him because I really lucked out when I found him. I love my teeth Dr Atcha!

I had what’s called dental implants; it started because I had a full upper denture and that full upper denture, by using the adhesive type material that was used to keep it from falling out when you eat, was making me sick to my stomach and I couldn’t eat. And so I came to Dr Atcha and went through a process of looking at what could be done. From that we sat down and went through a program and from there my wife and I decided that this would be the best thing for me to do. In the whole process there was no pain. I went home and I was pain free, I took Advil and Tylenol the way it was prescribed and it feels more like your natural teeth. There is no plate up in the top of the roof; it is basically regular like your teeth. That is a real big help when it comes to eating, tasting your food and so forth. I like the work that Dr Atcha and his staff do; I like their kindness, their courtesy. They greet you when you come in the door; they know the patients by name. I would recommend them to any person that is having dental problems.

They’re like regular teeth, you really can’t tell the difference. There’s no movement, they’re comfortable and cleaning is nice. You just go right back to your old routine, I can eat corn, I can eat apples; it’s great.

Don’t wait to take care of work that is needed in your mouth for as long as I did. He will do what is necessary and make you comfortable and take any route that you want to have done to make you comfortable and healthy. That’s what he has done for me, 100%.

I am getting implants. I’m 80 years old and I have some health issues. I think normally they pull the teeth, put the implants right in and you have the new teeth. However my bones are soft, I have some heart problems and some blood problems, so I have the implants in at the top and they have to heal well and I think that’s very good to do it slowly so that I have no trouble down the road, so I’m not unhappy about that. The bottom half will be done next month and I’m looking forward to that. What I’m wearing right now is a temporary plate until the real teeth are put in, and I had a compliment just the other day, ‘boy it’s a good thing you’re going for the implants because those teeth look so natural.’ I didn’t want to say these aren’t even the real ones, they’ll look even better I’m sure. I think Dr Atcha is always looking for the best way and the safest way to do the best job he can for you. Actually I think there may be dentists who would have rushed this process, I’m relieved that he’s taking my health into consideration and watching out for me the way he is. Everyone in here, all of the staff, are very much like he is. They’re dedicated to making you feel comfortable and not afraid, there’s nothing to be afraid of here. I can remember when my mother got false teeth, her mouth was swollen and miserable looking for weeks. I didn’t have that, there was very little swelling. I had these teeth put right in and I could eat soft foods right away. I took a pill to relax me before I came in that morning. They put a needle in my hand and that’s the last thing I remember until I woke up. I would recommend Dr Atcha, and also all his workers to anyone. There’s the man that does the moulds for the teeth, Alex, he’s a wonder, and Jen, the young lady that assists Dr Atcha is just a dream girl too. You couldn’t ask for anyone better. I’ve had compliments on what’s been done so far. I just think he’s a very exceptional dentist.

Meet Lesley

Hello, my name is Lesley and I am Dr. Atcha's Hygienist. Nothing gives me more pleasure than to see you get the smile you deserve.
I feel being a hygienist is an extremely rewarding job because you get to see patients whose oral health is so compromised and they come to you for health and you are able to educate them and treat them back to having a healthy mouth and a beautiful smile! I am very proactive about teaching my patients how to maintain good home care and prevent them from getting gum and bone infection (Periodontal diseases). If your situation is especially painful or if you've had bad experiences with other dentists, no problem: We're here to help people just like you.
Besides being passionate about good oral health, I also like to work out, and hanging out with friends, shopping and listening to music are some of my other past times.
